Chinese Deep Fried Dough Stick Recipe Youtiao
Today I will share a recipe of Chinese deep fried dough stick. It’s called youtiao in China, it is a kind of breakfast food that people like to eat, and occasionally youtiao can also make dinner.
Yeast and milk are used to make the dough. Although the method is a bit old-fashioned, the taste is very authentic. I used to make pasta with yeast, but I have not added milk, so it is slightly inferior in taste. Although the color looks good, it is not fluffy.
There is no need to put baking powder and baking soda, the method is simple and fast. Chinese deep-fried dough stick is crispy and melts at the entrance. I will share the recipe of youtiao, you guys can follow the steps below.
Ingredients:
300 grams of flour, 160 grams of milk, 1 egg, 3 grams of yeast, half a spoon of salt, a little sugar.
Cooking steps:
1. Prepare the ingredients you need.
2. Pour eggs into the flour and add yeast powder, salt and sugar.
3. Add milk and stir.
4. Knead into a smooth dough, cover with plastic wrap and wait for 1 hour.
5. After 1 hour, it is twice as big as the original dough.
6. Take out the dough and place it on the chopping board, sprinkle some dry flour. Don’t knead. Roll into thin slices with a rolling pin, then cut into rectangles.
7. Stacked together, put the chopsticks in the middle and press gently to leave a mark. Then cut into two pieces.
8. Tighten the two ends, operate in batches, cover with plastic wrap and wait for 15 minutes.
9. Pour the oil into the pot, heat over medium heat and the oil temperature is 50% hot. Put the thin strips into the pan. Turn over after swelling.
10. Turn over a few times in the middle and heat evenly. Fry to golden yellow.
